Are You A Germ-phobe?
Are you a self-proclaimed GERM-A-PHOBE?
Do you run away when you hear a sneeze?
Do you find yourself bathing in antibacterial gels after touching anything the has the slight possibility of being contaminated?
Is your favorite weapon a can of Lysol in which you always have in reach and you’re not afraid to you it?
Staying bug free and healthy is important. After all we have things to do. And I want to help you stay healthy so that, you can get things done.
Did you know…….
If your diet is lousy, you’ll get sick more often than someone who eats a healthier diet?
Yep, it’s true!
Viruses and bacterial infections will hit you harder and keep you out for longer. Meanwhile, eating poorly while you are sick will only make you sicker.
Good nutrition allows our bodies to respond to germy invaders quickly and efficiently.
And in order to function well, the cells of our immune system need plenty of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and essential fatty acids.
The most common deficiencies in a typical American diet tend to be:
- water (low-level dehydration)
- vitamins and minerals (not enough fruit & veggies)
- protein (particularly in women and in men with low appetites)
- essential fatty acids (95% of the population is deficient here)
So instead of going on the germ attack by bathing in antibacterial gels, and perfuming with Lysol spay, why not take a strong defensive stance with a balanced healthy diet!
If you struggle with putting together and staying on a balanced diet! I am here to help. Reach out today so that you can take steps to stay healthy and on the go during this cold and flu season.

How to Enjoy Sweets and Treats and Still Reach Your Fitness Goals
Halloween sweets and treats are EVERYWHERE!!!
How in the world are you supposed to have enough willpower to resist all of that temptation?
I have a secret. Are you ready for it????? You’re not!!!
When we use the term “willpower” we are typically referring to continually denying ourselves of things we want. This means means having to always say “No” to anything we consider indulgently delicious. Who wants to live like that? Not me!
Living a healthy life and making healthy food choices shouldn’t feel like perpetual grueling deprivation. In fact, attempting to construct a healthy lifestyle through willpower pretty much never works. All those “No’s” eventually turn into
“Well, just this one time.”
or
“Everything in moderation, right?”
Then after you “give in” you feel as if you have “failed” and have to start all over again….. on Monday of course. And since you have already given in once you might as well “enjoy” yourself now because Monday the deprivation is scheduled to begin again.
Then the very same thing happens again the next week and now you are feeling defeated and ask yourself “What’s wrong with me?”
Does any of this sound familiar? If it does I can relate! I have been where you are.
So, then what’s the answer? What broke the cycle for me?
I’m glad you asked!
I had to reframe my thinking and realize that I CAN eat foods that I love and crave and still reach my fitness goals, but I had to start doing it ON PURPOSE.
Instead of completely depriving myself of things like chocolate (my fav) I started adding it into my daily or weekly food plan. This puts me in control rather than giving my cravings and impulses control.
I no longer have to rely on “willpower” make me say “No!” Instead the answer is now “Yes” I just have to predetermine the when and the how much.
I challenge you to give it a try!
Below are 3 steps to enjoying treats with no regrets!!!
Instead of mindlessly eating those Halloween treats all day long, decide before you are even see them
- what you will allow yourself to have
- when you will have it and,
- how much you will have
This way you will choose the thing you love the most, take time to savor and enjoy it.
Best of all you can end that vicious cycle of willpower>failure>starting over.
You can do this!!!!

Have you ever stopped to think about the things you do over and over again?

For many of us our “normal” has caused us to become overweight, stressed out, exhausted and overwhelmed.
We want to things to change but we feel as if we are caught up in a vicious cycle and can’t seem to find a way out.
Well guess what, there is a way out!
If you want to lose weight, have more energy and spend more time enjoying life, then you absolutely can!!!!
All you have to do is create new habits that support the life and results that you desire. You simply have to create a new “normal” for yourself.
The key to success here is to realize that creating a new normal is a gradual process that takes time.
If you try to drastically change too many things too quickly you will be setting yourself up for failure and disappointment.
Choose just one thing that you can begin changing TODAY to help you create your new normal.
Make this change SIMPLE.
• If you have a fast food habit on the way to and/or from work, simply change your route to bypass your usually stopping place. Additionally, create a habit of popping a piece of gum on your mouth when you get in the car.
• If have an afternoon vending machine habit don’t keep money or bankcards with you at work. Keep healthy snacks and a fresh water bottle at your desk or in your locker.
• If you have and snooze button habit that is causing you to skip your morning workouts, put your alarm clock across the room so that you must get out of bed to turn it off.
• If you have tv/couch potato habit that has hinders your from completely necessary tasks place sticky note over the sensor on your tv each night before bed so that get home from work and habitually reach for the remote it won’t work. This will be a reminder to do what needs to be done first!
This suggestion list could go on and on!!!
